Social Housing
Supporting whānau into affordable housing
At He Herenga Kura, we believe every whānau deserves a safe, warm and affordable home.
As a Community Housing Provider, we offer social housing for whānau who may be struggling in the private rental market or on a lower income. Our whare are more than just houses - they are a place where whānau can find stability, security and the opportunity to thrive.
We support whānau with tenancy service management, property management and property maintenance to ensure that we work with whānau to maintain our collective obligations.
The support we provide includes
Affordable Homes
Providing safe, secure and affordable housing for those unable to access private rentals and long-term tenancy options that give whānau stability.
Offering wrap around services such as budgeting, employment and social support and helping whānau move from crisis or transitional housing into permanent homes.
Supporting whānau wellbeing
Fair and reasonable management
Ensuring housing is allocated fairly based on need and eligibility while also maintaining homes to a safe, healthy and liveable standard.
Working in partnership with government, iwi and other community providers to reduce homelessness and overcrowding and creating stable, connected neighbourhoods where people can flourish.
Building strong communities
